NTA CTET 2019 EXAM: Important Exam Dates, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern, Admit Card Release Date, Application Process, Answer Key and Results

The CTET exam which was earlier conducted by CBSE is now proposed to be conducted by NTA i.e. National Testing Agency from 2019. As you are aware, the candidate who wants to become a teacher of class 1st to 8th Standard needs to go through the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and candidates who wish to pursue their dream of teaching in government schools need to appear for NTA CTET 2019.

The official notification for NTA CTET 2019 is going to come by Mid June 2019. Candidates who wish to proceed with their career in teaching must read the detailed bulletin available at the official websites for the effective application process.

The NTA officials are going to hold the CTET 2019 in an online mode and there are expected changes in the exam pattern that candidates need to be aware of. The application process will begin on the official website of CTET at ctet.nic.in/

CTET Vacancy 2019

Once the candidates qualify the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), they will become eligible for filling up the application forms released by the State and Central Government schools which gives candidates a clear chance to become TGT, PGT, NTT or BTC teacher.

However, CBSE doesn’t have any role in issuing the official notification for the recruitment. The Sate govt. and Central govt. / Kendriya Vidhyala or Navodya Schools have the responsibility of announcing the vacancies for 2019.

CTET 2019 Exam Eligibility

The following is the brief of the eligibility criteria/norms that students must possess to stand eligible for the examination of NTA CTET 2019. In any case, candidate don’t seem compatible to the following criteria will be abandoned from the right to give the NTA CTET 2019 exam. Therefore, candidates must adhere to the following norms strictly.

Education Qualification For teaching class I – V, the candidates must have done their secondary education with at least 50% or should have cleared / appeared for final year in the diploma for the elementary education.

For teaching classes VI to VIII, the candidate must hold or possess a graduation degree from recognized university and have appeared or passed in their 2 year diploma degree in final year.

Age Limit There is a minimum age of 18 years that candidates must have and maximum there is no mandatory age limit.
Nationality Candidates from Indian origin can only apply.

Qualification criteria for the Primary teacher (class I to V)

The following candidates are eligible to apply for post of primary teacher:

Passed with 50% marks at senior secondary education and have appeared/passed or appearing in final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education.
Passed with 45 % marks at senior secondary education and appeared or appearing for the 2-year diploma in elementary education as per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations 2002.
Passed with 50% marks at senior secondary education and passed or appearing to appear for the final year of the 4-year course of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Graduation and have passed or appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in elementary education.

Qualification Criteria for Elementary Teacher (Class VI to VIII)

Graduation and passed/appearing for the final year of 2-year diploma in Elementary education.
Passed graduation with 50% and passed or appearing for the 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
Graduation with 45 % marks and passed or appearing for 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per the timely regulations issued by NCTE.
Passed with 45% in secondary and passed or appearing in final year of the Bachelor in Elementary education (4 year).
Completed senior secondary with 50% marks. Passed or appearing for the final year of the B.A/B.Sc.Ed of 4 year.

Note: Relaxation of 5% will be given to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility as per the regulations.

CTET 2019 Exam Pattern

The NTA CTET 2019 is going to be a Computer-based Test with objective type questions. The candidates need to select the correct option out of the four and there is no negative marking as such. There are going to be 2 papers in NTA CTET 2019 – Paper – I for candidates who wish to become the teacher of class 1st to 5th and Paper – II will be for those who wish to become the teacher of class 6th to 8th. The candidates can mark their preference of paper in the application form itself.

Note – The duration of both the paper – I (class 1st to 5th) and paper-II (class 6th to 8th) is going to be of 2.5 hours in total.

CTET 2019 Application procedure

The application process for NTA CTET 2019 will begin soon and students before filling up the application form must furnish true and original personal and educational details. If the details are found to be misleading, the officials have every right to cancel the examination.

The candidates need to follow the below set of instructions to submit their application accurately soon after the process gets started:

  • Visit the official website of CTET 2019 at ctet.nic.in.
  • A link for applying online will appear and candidates need to furnish their personal and educational details.
  • Uploading the scanned images of photograph and a valid signature.
  • Paying the requisite examination fee and submitting the application.
  • Taking a screenshot or a print of the confirmation page for ready reference.

NTA CTET 2019 Syllabus

Candidates can download the updated syllabus from the official website of CTET at ctet.nic.in and go through it for effective study.

CTET 2019 Admit Card

The admit card will be available prior to the examination and candidates can download it via entering their registration number and date of birth from the official website. The candidates are supposed to carry their clear print of admit card along with other valid proof of identification and some important stationary during the course of examination as without it no student will be permitted to give the exam.

CTET 2019 Results

The results will appear after the examination is completed. Students who will achieve the qualifying marks will be called for a further interview round with the officials.

Other Important Information:

  • The candidates who are successful in acquiring the CTET certificate will have a validity of total 7 years for all the categories of results.
  • The candidates don’t have any liability in terms of number of attempts to clear the exam.
  • The candidates even after clearing their CTET exam can again sit for the exam to improve their scores for further considerations.

In case of loss of certificate, the candidates can have a duplicate certificate issued by drawing a draft in favor of officials of CBSE at any official bank.
