CTET 2019 Application Process – Complete Guide for Filling the Application Form

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted for appointment of eligible candidates at teaching posts in various schools affiliated to the Central/State government. The exam aims at setting uniform recruitment standards at national level. The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the exam for the appointment of teachers for classes I to VIII.

Schools Considering CTET Score

  • All schools under the administration of the central government such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs), Central Tibetan Schools, etc.
  • State government schools
  • Schools under the administrative control of Union Territories
  • Private schools also have the choice of considering CTET score for recruitment of teachers.

Important: Only candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent qualification can apply for the exam.

About CTET 2018

The 11th edition of the exam has been conducted (after a gap of two years) on 9th December 2018 (Sunday). The last exam was conducted in the year 2016. It is expected that the exam will be conducted in the year 2019 by the National Testing Agency. The agency is formed recently as a single body for organizing competitive examinations in the country. It will take over the exams conducted by the CBSE and AICTE. CTET has not been covered yet but is expected to come under the agency’s purview from the year 2019. So, the article will be covering the detailed application process for CTET 2019.

CTET Application Process

CTET application forms are made available online through the official website – www.ctet.nic.in. Candidates interested in appearing for the exam are suggested to apply for the exam only through the official website within the specified time. Please note that no other mode of application submission is acceptable.

Let’s move on with the application process:

The application process for the CTET exam can be completed in the following phases:

  • Fill the Application Form
  • Upload Scanned Images of Signature and Photograph
  • Pay the Application Fee
  • Print Confirmation Page

Fill the Application Form

Firstly, candidates are required to register for the exam. The log-in credentials are generated after successful registration. Register through the following steps:

  • Go to the official CTET website.
  • Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link on the home-page.
  • Click on ‘Proceed to Apply Online’ button under ‘Candidate Registration’ section.
  • Enter the details for registration. Please mention a valid email Id and mobile number.
  • On successful submission of the information, the application/registration number will appear on the screen.
  • Now, log-in using the application number and password to complete the application form.
  • Provide details such as parents’ name, category, employment status, educational details, address, etc. Enter details such as name, parents’ name, and DOB as per class X certificates. Check all the details carefully before submitting.

Upload Images

After submitting the application form, you will be re-directed to the section for uploading required images. You are required to upload the scanned images of:

  • Recent photograph (passport size)
  • Signature

Here are the specifications for scanned images:

Photograph JPG/JPEG 10 to 100 KB 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height)
Signature JPG/JPEG 3 to 30 KB 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height)

It is mandatory to upload the scanned images of the candidate’s photograph and signature.

Pay the Application Fee

Candidates will now be taken to the fee payment page. The application fee is to be paid as per the category through debit/credit card or e-challan. The application fee amount is as follows (GST will be charged additionally):

Category Paper-I Paper-II Both Paper-I and Paper-II
General/OBC Rs. 700 Rs. 700 Rs. 1200
SC/ST/PWD Rs. 350 Rs. 350 Rs. 600

E-Challan (along with the application fee) can be deposited at Syndicate or Canara Bank.

Print Confirmation Page

After successful fee payment, a message for successful submission of the application form will appear on the screen. Take a printout of the confirmation page for future references.

Please Note: Do not send the printout of the confirmation page to the CTET unit.

As per the official information bulletin for CTET 2018, “If a candidate submits on-line more than one application, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled and the candidate may also be debarred for future examination (s). No communication will be sent in this regard.”
