The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) every year for admission to M.Pharma. or equivalent courses in the participating institutions. Till 2018, the exam was conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The application process is carried out online through the official website – ntagpat.nic.in. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online only through the official website.
Candidates must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. As per the official information bulletin, “The NTA do neither verify the information filled by the candidates in the application form nor verify any certificate of category/educational qualification for deciding the eligibility of candidates. The certificates of educational qualification and category (if applying under reserved category) will be verified by the concerned institution. The candidates are, therefore, advised to ensure their eligibility and the category (if applying under reserved category). The NTA will, in no way, be responsible for any wrong/incorrect information furnished by the candidate(s) in their online application form. The letter/e-mails in this regard will not be entertained by the NTA.”
The notification for GPAT 2020 is not yet available. However, no changes are expected in the eligibility criteria. Thus, here are the GPAT 2020 eligibility criteria on the basis of 2019 information bulletin.
GPAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must be a citizen of India.
There is no age restriction for the GPAT 2020 exam.
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
Lateral entry candidates are also eligible for the exam.
Candidates who are to appear for the final year examination of the bachelor’s degree and whose result will be declared before the commencement of 2019-20 admission can also apply for the exam.
Candidates with B.Tech. (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology) or equivalent qualification are NOT ELIGIBLE for the exam.
Reservations are applicable for reserved category candidates and the terms of reservation vary among the institutes. Candidates are required to check the reservation policies of the institute they are interested in taking admission. Here are reservation details for Centrally Run institutes:

There will be 5% reservations for PwD category candidates in each category.
GPAT score is accepted by all the AICTE approved colleges/institutions/universities. Candidates are required to apply separately to their desired institution on the basis of their GPAT score. The GPAT score remains valid for three years.
