The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has entrusted NTA for conducting the All India Entrance Examinations for admission to undergraduate courses in agricultural and allied areas. From the year 2019 onwards, NTA will be conducting the ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam. Candidate should have passed 10+2 level examination from CBSE or equivalent recognised board after completing 12 years of study. The minimum marks to be secured in the qualifying exam are:
- For General, OBC (NCL), UPS, EWS categories – 50%
- For SC, ST, PWD, Transgender categories – 40%
There will be no rounding-off of the marks/percentage.

Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination and are awaiting result can also apply for the exam. Such candidates will be considered for admission only if they secure the minimum qualifying percentage and submit the proof of same latest by the counselling.
The minimum age of the candidate must be 16 years as on 31st August 2019. “No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit.”
ICAR AIEEA 2019 Application Process
The application process for the ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam has started on 1st April and will continue till 30th April 2019. Interested candidates can submit their application ONLY through the official website. Here are the steps to be followed:
- Visit the official website – https://ntaicar.nic.in/.
- Click on the button ‘Fill Application Form for AIEEA (UG)- 2019’ on the home-page.
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ button under the ‘New Candidate Registration’ section.
- Read the instructions, tick on the check-box, and click on ‘Click here to Proceed’ button.
- Enter the details asked for to complete the registration.
- Once you receive the application number (on your registered email id and mobile number), go to the candidate’s log-in section and enter the application number and password to log-in.
- Now, complete the application form, upload your scanned photo and signature, and make fee payment.
- After successful fee payment, download the confirmation page.
The details of the application fee are as follows:
- For Unreserved/OBC/EWS – Rs. 700/-
- For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender – Rs. 350/-
ICAR AIEEA 2019 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The NTA ICAR AIEEA (UG) will be a single computer-based test with Multiple Choice questions. The duration of the test will be 2:30 hours. Here are the details on the number of questions and marking scheme:
Number of questions – 150 (50 questions in each subject). The three subjects will those chosen by the candidate while filing the application form and those studied at class XII.
Marking Scheme – 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer, 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer, and no marks will be awarded unattempted questions.
The question paper will be in both Hindi and English languages.
The syllabus for the NTA AIEEA (UG) exam is prescribed by the ICAR. Candidates can download the syllabus for their respective subjects from the official website – www.icar.org.in.
NTA ICAR AIEEA 2019 Admit Card
The ICAR AIEEA 2019 e-admit cards will be available at the NTA website from 5th June 2019 onwards. The date and shift timing of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card. “No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre, on Date and Timings other than that allotted to them in their e-Admit Card,” reads the official brochure.
Candidates who are facing issues in downloading the admit card can report the same using the NTA Help Line between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM from 5th to 30th June 2019.
You can also report discrepancies in your admit card at the Help Line number. As per the official notification, “In such cases, candidates would appear in the examination with the already downloaded e-admit card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make the correction in the record later.”
ICAR AIEEA 2019 Answer Key
NTA will release the answer keys for the exam and will provide the candidates with an opportunity to challenge the answer key on payment of Rs. 1000 per question. The provisional answer key will be displayed for three days at the official website.
The recorded responses of each candidate will also be uploaded prior to the declaration of the result which will also remain available for three days. Candidates can access their responses through their log-in credentials.
After considering the challenges raised by the candidates, the final answer key will be uploaded at the official website. The result will be prepared on the basis of the final answer key.
NTA ICAR AIEEA 2019 Result
The ICAR AIEEA 2019 result will be declared by 17th July 2019 at the official website. NTA will hand over the raw scores to ICAR and ICAR will prepare a single overall merit-rank list for the exam. “No separate intimation about non-selection in ICAR-AIEEA (UG)-2019 examination and marks obtained therein, will be sent to the candidate and no correspondence (Letter/Fax/E-mail, etc.) in this regard will be entertained, ” reads the official notification.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Can I carry a calculator to the examination hall?
A: No. Calculators and other gadgets such as docu pen, slide rules, log tables, electronic watches, mobile phones, pager, any textual material etc. are not allowed inside the examination centre.
Q: What will be the mode of counselling?
A: There will be online counselling only. Admission will be done only through the counselling conducted by ICAR.
Q: How will I get the details of examination centres?
A: The exact detail of the examination centre will be published on your e-admit card. For the state-wise list of examination cities, check the information bulletin.
Q: Is there any rechecking facility?
A: No. Representations for re-checking the answer scripts will not be accepted as candidates are provided with the opportunity to evaluate their recorded responses and challenge the answer key.
Q: Can the application fee be paid through offline mode?
A: Yes, the application fee can be paid offline through cash deposit through e-challan at SBI/Syndicate bank branches.
