JEE Main Exam Pattern 2019 – Exam Mode and Time Schedule

Qualifying the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is among the eligibility criteria for admission to undergraduate engineering courses offered by IIITs, NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and other institutions funded by the State governments. The performance in class 12th or equivalent examination is another criterion for admission to such courses.

The JEE Main entrance exam for the year 2019 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency. Here is a quick glimpse of upcoming exam events before moving ahead with the topic of the article – JEE Main Exam Pattern.

JEE Main 2019 – Important Dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the JEE Main exam in two attempts from 2019. Here are the dates for both the attempts:

JEE Main 2019 – Exam Pattern

Exam Pattern helps the candidates in getting familiar with the exam. The information here will help in understanding the JEE Main Exam Pattern. Let’s begin:

Papers in JEE Main

The examination is conducted for two papers as under:

Candidates can appear for a single paper or both the papers. The details of question type, subjects in each paper are as under:

Time Schedule

JEE Main examination will be conducted in two shifts each day. The duration of each shift will be 3 hours. The shift timings will be:

  • First shift – 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Second shift – 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

JEE Main Mock Test

NTA has also provided the facility of mock tests for the JEE Main exam. Candidates can access the mock test through their Gmail or Facebook ID. Mobile number login facility is also available. The mock tests are the best way to get familiar with the exam pattern. These tests help in analysing the exam preparation as well as increasing the speed and accuracy.

Important Note: The examination venue and shift timing mentioned on the JEE Main Admit Card will not be changed under any circumstances.
